Dal 1947 Bistrot – Restaurant and Pizzeria in Rome

Steps from Fontana di Trevi, where Roman tradition is at home

From a classic Sunday carbonara to perfectly grilled fillet steak, every dish tells a story that started in 1947. Honest Roman food and handcrafted pizza in the heart of the Eternal City. This is where Rome comes to eat.

The Restaurant: Real Roman Cooking

Roman classics done properly, since 1947. Carbonara made with crispy guanciale and aged pecorino. Bucatini all’Amatriciana with San Marzano tomatoes. Tonnarelli Cacio e Pepe, freshly tossed and gloriously creamy. From the grill: beef fillet, tagliata with rocket and shaved parmesan, mixed grilled meats. Seafood lovers will find spaghetti ai frutti di mare, fisherman’s risotto, grilled salmon and swordfish.

The Pizzeria: Crafted Daily, Worth the Wait

Great pizza takes time. Ours starts with a slow-proved dough, worked by hand every day using carefully selected flours. The result is a pizza that’s light, easy to digest, with a beautifully open crust and a base that’s crisp in all the right places. From a classic Margherita with buffalo mozzarella to a Napoletana with anchovies, creamy Burrata with cherry tomatoes and rocket, or a fiery Diavola — there’s something for every table.

Rome on a Plate: A Tradition That Never Gets Old

Roman food is some of the most celebrated in Italy — and for good reason. Built on simplicity, technique and quality ingredients, dishes like Carbonara, Amatriciana, Cacio e Pepe and Gricia have gone from the working-class kitchens of Rome’s historic neighbourhoods to tables around the world. At Dal 1947 Bistrot, we keep them exactly as they should be: honest, unfussy and deeply satisfying — just steps from Fontana di Trevi.
